Halo Reach - Lieutenant Commander Cathrine-B320 aka "Kat"
Being a long time member of the 405th Halo costume site, I have started some of my own Halo costumes. My yellow Hayabusa was my first costume attempt, but was put on hold. I attempted DARE for the Halo 3:ODST midnight release, but as my pieces were drying after fiberglassing, it started to rain and completely ruined my pieces. There was no time left for me to rebuild and redo the pieces since release night was just a couple days away.
With the announcement of Halo Reach, I was happy there was another female character that I could make a costume for, so sometime before the release, I started to make Kat's armor. I never did complete it for the release since I am so picky about everything looking just right, there were not enough reference pictures for the modelers to make the models from and since it does get cold here, making it with the fiberglass makes getting something done NOT an easy process. Eventually EVA foam was the new method to use in order to make armor and since you don't need all those toxic chemicals and can be easily accomplished indoors, this made it much easier for me!

The Finished Suit!!!
This costume has been OVER a year in the making. I started it before the release of Halo Reach, before I knew about using foam and ever since the game released, better models to build the armor became available. Since I started to learn to work with foam, which was easy for me to learn how to do since I'm crafty like that, I was able to work on a costume that was very comfy to wear, lightweight and could easily do indoors. I FINALLY got it finished on 10/31/11!!! :D
